We are excited to present a mini-TweetCamp (3 hours) on Tuesday June 1st from 7-10 pm at the Center of Excellence in Prince Edward, Hong Kong. There has been a lot happening in the world of Twitter and many improvements to the tools available to businesses and individuals over the last six months. We plan on sharing tips on Twitter branding and engagement, how to increase your follower base, and getting into depth on how to use some great tools that not only work with Twitter, but with Facebook Pages (not just profiles) as well. Sign up today!

As many in the Hong Kong community know, I had the privilege of organizing the last Twestival here. Through that experience I was able to meet some special people in the region involved with Twitter and Social Media. One such person is Michael Q. Todd (@mqtodd) who was one of my co-organizers in Asia for Tokyo Twestival.

Michael sees Social Media as a way that a team of like minded people can co-operate globally at almost no cost to promote each other`s businesses and share learning and make a massive difference at the same time.
He is a creative and influential leader in the new media space. His primary skill is helping small businesses and charities to maximise the use of their time on Twitter. After leaving behind the secure but unfulfilling New Zealand legal business to live in Tokyo three years ago, he has worked without pay to master his chosen field and connect with other influencers.
Michael’s particular interests lie in the areas of environmental destruction and innovative education.
In late 2009 he founded the world`s first Social Media marketing community with several other social entrepreneurs and this has proved to be a major success. With a goal to play as big a game as possible and have as much fun as he can at the same time Michael spends most of the day online or juggling and the evenings at networking parties or disco dancing.

It has been a joy getting to know Michael, and I am thrilled that we can bring you a TweetCamp together.

Really looking forward to seeing you ~ @bethebutterfly

As thousands of businesses, from the smallest to the largest, move into the real-time web it is becoming clear that Twitter’s founding principles are becoming the new rules for businesses everywhere.

What Twitter has taught us to become:

Immediate: Move from “Hard to Reach” to “Available Everywhere”.

Transparent: From “Controlling our Image” to “Being Ourselves”.

Approachable: No more “Trying To Sell”. Now: “Making Connections”.

The most common misconception is that Twitter is a tool for broadcasting lots of annoying, inane tweets signifying nothing. But that couldn’t be further from the truth. Twitter is about listening and responding in helpful ways.

Join us to learn how to begin moving you business in the right direction.

There’s no point in delaying the inevitable. If you are in business you had better figure out how to capitalize on the real-time web revolution before your competitor does.

Times have changed. Having a presence online is something we all must get used to — just as many of us had to get used to the idea of having computers on our desk at work, and then email on Blackberries in our pockets.

Twitter isn’t the end-all-be-all of social networking — but it is the most important starting point. It has, in just two-short years, changed the way we search and are searched. People are looking for you and your business in the NOW–not some static website that you update periodically.

Old-school search will never vanish, your corporate blogs (you’ve got one of those, right?) will continue to play a vital role in the new media business ecosystem, but real-time news about you and your industry is creating a society where we have an omnipresent sense of the moment.

Are you living in that moment? Do you have any idea what people are saying about you and your business, right now?

Google organized our memory, but real-time search (the kind of thing that Twitter specializes in) is organizing our consciousness.

These are the sort of people who we’ve designed Tweetcamp for:

thought leaders

sales and marketing executives

brand managers

PR directors

customer service reps

entrepreneurs

media workers

social crusaders
